Rion’s Story

Ever since I was a kid, you’d find me creating. I loved making ‘movies’ and writing scripts for plays to act out with friends, I wrote (and read) a ton of fan-fiction, I’d stay up all hours of the night editing my pictures and creating digital art. I’ve lived and breathed it all.

In my earlier years, truth-be-told, I wasn’t a big fan of reading, finding it to be a chore and leaning toward quick fan-fiction reads online. But eventually I came around, and I’m so glad I did.

The road to publishing my first book was filled with a bunch of mental roadblocks—mainly I could never get past 25k words. Until 2020 when I needed to block out the noise of the world. I finally finished my first book and decided that if I could do it once, I could do it again. And again. And hopefully, I’ll never stop.

Meet The Author

Rion Ashley is a self-published author following in the creative footsteps of her mother and grandfather, using songs from her youth and her wild imagination to spin crazy stories out of her head. When she’s not scribbling stories into notebooks, she enjoys being with her family, cuddled up with a good book, photography, road-trips, playing with paint and getting her hands dirty in her garden.

Get to know me:

  • I’ve always loved creating. From graphic design, to abstract art, writing and poetry to photography. It woos my soul. It’s something that has always made me, feel like me.

  • I’m far more a night owl than a morning person, but I’m learning to love the quiet before the world starts to wake up.

  • I’m constantly switching between my art. Somedays, my camera is my happy place, others, making messes with paint soothes my busy mind. And on the more rare days lately, writing reignites that passion for words in my heart.

  • A good playlist and long drives <3

  • Lover of weird shit & coffee

  • I only wear shoes when I have to. I’m almost always barefoot.

  • Learning to slow down my life and love the simple things. It’s been a refreshing change. Being in the garden, growing my own food and teas, spending more time in the present and less on the screen. It’s where life happens. And that’s where you’ll find me.

Music, as far back as I can remember, has always prompted stories inside my head. I can’t hear the lyrics and not piece together a small movie behind my eyes. For that reason, every book of mine comes with it’s very own curated playlist!
